Colonial Seal offers standard profiles for spring energized PTFE seals or “Flexiseals” TM These are excellent replacements for Parker, Trelleborg, TriTec, American Variseal, and BAL Seal. ideal for many applications including: Chemical Vats, Dynamic Rotary Dust Excluders, Pressurized Beverage Containers, Quick Disconnects, Scroll Compressors, and Vacuum Chambers.

PTFE spring energized seals offer extreme temperature, high pressure, chemically inert static and dynamic sealing for the most demanding applications. A highly efficient seal is created as the system pressure increases enough to take over from the spring and engage the shaft or bore. The spring or energized seal assembly provides permanent resilience to the seal jacket and compensates for jacket wear, hardware misalignment and eccentricity. The jacket material is critical in design to assure proper seal performance.

Material options include: Virgin PTFE, Graphite PTFE, Molly-Filled PTFE, Glass/Moly PTFE, Carbon PTFE, and Bronze-Filled PTFE.

Three spring designs are available with these type of seals: helical springs, v-springs, and slanted coil springs.
