About HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber)

HNBR is a hydrogenated variant of nitrile butadiene rubber, which enhances its resistance to heat, ozone, and aging. This synthetic rubber is well-regarded for its strength, making it a popular choice in demanding environments where standard nitrile rubber may not suffice.

Properties of HNBR

Continuous Operating Temperature Range: -20°F to 300°F

• Can withstand up to 350°F for short durations

Resistance:

• Good resistance to most mineral oils and greases with a mineral oil base
• Resistant to gasoline, diesel, light heating oil, animal and vegetable oils, and fats
• Resistant to hot water
• Very good resistance to ozone

Mechanical Properties:

• Good impact and abrasion resistance
• High tensile strength and excellent wear resistance
• Good compression set and flex-crack resistance

Hardness:

• Standard: 70-90 durometer, depending on application
• Custom hardness options available
